All traditional Vietnamese dishes were refreshed with spices from Western as well as other Asian countries. Founder Uy has brought “strictly good vibes and good food” over with him from years living in France. Inside this peaceful secret spot, a taste of Medley of fresh springrolls or Seared duck in orange sauce will give you a distinctly enjoyable time. As an hidden sanctuary in the heart of Hoi An, Secret Garden is originally the garden of Phong Thai family’s ancient house - one of the oldest families in Hoi An. The restaurant owner, Mr.Uy TRAN, is also the only son of forth generation: “In this house, all my family members used to gather and enjoy plates from our Grandma with her best recipes…”. "Living in Hoi An since the 17th century, with a background of half Chinese - half Vietnamese, our family have created an unique cooking style, which’s combined Chinese exquisite recipe with Vietnamese fresh and delightful ingredients. The image of my Grandma cooking with all her affection in our little kitchen has gotten deep in my mind and become a great motivation for me. She taught me to always put effort, concentration, and most of all, the love into each dish to make. That's the most valuable recipe I got from her", said Uy
What makes each dish become lively and unique is the sauce. From the starter such as “Nộm”, to the main course like Barbecues, they all cannot be accomplished without their special sauces. That is also what makes Secret Garden distinctive.
Added to that, with all the plants and settings preserved carefully by generations, you will also feel the vibe of Vietnamese culture when enjoying meals here.
Vivant à Hoi an depuis le 17ₑ siècle, avec des influences mi-chinoise mi-vietnamienne, notre famille a su créer un style unique de cuisine qui associe les exquises recettes chinoises avec les produits frais et délicieux du Vietnam. L'image de ma grand-mère travaillant avec amour dans sa petite cuisine est restée profondément ancrée dans mon esprit et est devenue ma plus grande motivation. Elle m'a inculqué les valeurs du travail, de l'effort et de l'amour de la cuisine, cette amour que l'on retrouve dans chacunes des assiettes que je prépare. Toutes ces valeurs sont là plus belle recette que j'ai pu apprendre d'elle.
Ce qui rend chaque plat unique est la sauce. Avec en entrée du "Nôm" suivi d'un barbecue en plat principal, cette sauce si particulière est ce qui rend nos plats si délicieux. C'est ce qui fait la distinction du Secret Garden.
